William Visuals provides original stock footage created for filmmakers, agencies, businesses, publishers and content producers. Every video is offered at one stated price under one clearly identified licence classification:

Commercial Licence; or
Editorial Use Only.

The applicable classification is displayed in the video’s information section before purchase.

Buyers should review that information and this policy before completing an order.

William Slivinsky is the copyright owner and licensor of the footage.

Purchasing footage does not transfer its copyright or ownership to the buyer.

The purchase grants only the non-exclusive usage rights contained in the applicable licence.

How Licensing Works

Every video has:

One purchase price.
One licence classification.
A description of the visible footage.
Technical information where available.
Information about model and property releases.
Disclosure of significant incidental people or trademarks where relevant.

The buyer can preview the footage and open the information section before purchasing it.

The footage information will identify the video as either:

Commercial Licence; or
Editorial Use Only.

The buyer does not select or change the licence classification. The classification displayed for the particular video determines the permitted use.

Commercial Licence

Footage identified as carrying a Commercial Licence may be used in:

Advertising and marketing.
Business and organisational websites.
Social-media content.
Corporate communications and presentations.
Films, television programmes and documentaries.
YouTube and other online video productions.
Client projects.
Editorial, journalistic and educational productions.

The Commercial Licence is non-exclusive. The same footage may be licensed to other customers unless a separate written exclusivity agreement has been made.

A Commercial Licence does not permit the buyer to suggest that any visible person, business, property owner or trademark owner endorses, sponsors or is commercially associated with the buyer, its client or the advertised subject.

Where no model, property or trademark release is supplied, the buyer must consider whether additional permission is required for its particular intended use.

Editorial Use Only

Footage identified as Editorial Use Only may be used to illustrate matters of legitimate factual, journalistic, documentary, educational, cultural or historical interest.

Permitted editorial uses may include:

News reporting.
Documentaries.
Educational programmes and materials.
Historical features.
Factual articles and publications.
Commentary about places, events, transport, businesses or public life.

Editorial footage must not be used:

In advertising or product promotion.
On product packaging or merchandise.
In a way that implies endorsement, sponsorship or commercial association.
To promote an unrelated product, service, organisation or political campaign.
In a misleading manner that materially changes the meaning of the recorded scene.
In a defamatory, discriminatory or unjustifiably intrusive context.

Reasonable editing for duration, format, colour correction, subtitling or inclusion within a wider factual production is permitted, provided the footage is not presented misleadingly.

Where reasonably practical, the production should include an appropriate factual caption identifying the place, subject or event.

Release and Rights Information

The information supplied with each video may state:

Model release: Yes or No.
Property release: Yes or No.
Incidental people: Yes or No.
Incidental trademarks or business names: Yes or No.
Recorded from a public place: Yes, No or Not stated.

“No release” does not necessarily mean that the footage may only be used editorially. General public scenes, incidental people, distant individuals, transport, architecture and incidental branding may appear in footage classified for commercial use.

However, the absence of a release means William Visuals is not supplying the buyer with separate written permission from the depicted person, property owner or trademark owner.

The buyer must assess whether the intended context, territory, media, audience and message require additional permissions.

Incidental People, Property and Trademarks

Footage recorded in public places may contain incidental pedestrians, vehicles, buildings, business names, signs or trademarks.

Their appearance does not represent an endorsement of William Visuals, the buyer or the buyer’s client.

The buyer must not use the footage:

To make a depicted person appear to endorse a product, service, organisation or cause.
To imply that a visible business or trademark owner sponsors or approves the buyer’s project.
To identify an incidental person as suffering from a medical condition, committing an offence, experiencing financial difficulty or participating in another sensitive activity without a proper factual and legal basis.
In a defamatory, misleading, offensive or unlawfully discriminatory manner.
To damage or take unfair advantage of a visible trademark or business reputation.

Permitted Editing

Subject to the applicable licence, buyers may:

Trim the footage.
Resize or crop it.
Perform reasonable colour correction.
Add sound, music, narration, captions or graphics.
Combine it with other material.
Adapt it for different screen formats.

Buyers must not alter the footage in a manner that creates a false, defamatory or materially misleading representation of a depicted person, business, place or event.

Prohibited Uses

No licence permits the buyer to:

Resell, sublicense or redistribute the original footage as standalone stock content.
Upload the original file to another stock-footage marketplace.
Make the footage available for unrestricted download.
Claim authorship or copyright ownership.
Register the footage, or a substantially unchanged version, with an automated copyright-enforcement or content-identification system.
Use the footage unlawfully.
Use it to defame, harass or deliberately mislead.
Use it in pornography or unlawful sexual content.
Use it to promote hatred, violence or unlawful discrimination.
Use it to train an artificial-intelligence model or create a competing stock-footage dataset without separate written permission.
Remove any copyright or rights-management information supplied with the file.

Responsibilities of William Visuals

William Visuals is responsible for:

Having copyright ownership or authority to license the footage.
Supplying the footage purchased by the buyer.
Describing the footage honestly and with reasonable accuracy.
Providing accurate material technical information where stated.
Identifying the applicable licence classification.
Disclosing whether releases are supplied where that information is stated.
Granting the usage rights described in this policy.

Nothing in this policy excludes responsibilities or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Responsibilities of the Buyer

The buyer is responsible for:

Reading the footage information before purchasing.
Confirming that the displayed licence is suitable for the intended project.
Using the footage only as permitted.
Protecting the downloaded master file from unauthorised access.
Ensuring that clients, employees and contractors follow the applicable licence.
Obtaining any additional permissions required by the particular context of use.
Avoiding implied endorsement, sponsorship or association.
Avoiding defamatory, misleading, unlawful or sensitive use.
Complying with applicable laws, regulations and advertising rules in every territory where the completed production is distributed.

Purchase and Acceptance

By completing a purchase, the buyer confirms that:

The buyer has reviewed the video preview and information.
The buyer understands whether the footage carries a Commercial Licence or is Editorial Use Only.
The buyer has reviewed the stated release information.
The buyer agrees to this Stock Footage Licensing and Usage Policy.
The person placing the order has authority to purchase for any named business, organisation or client.

The contract is formed when the order is accepted and purchase confirmation is issued.

The purchase confirmation and footage information should be retained as evidence of the licence granted.

Digital Delivery and Cancellation

The footage is supplied as digital content.

Where immediate download or access is requested, a consumer buyer may be required to confirm expressly that:

Digital delivery should begin immediately; and
The buyer understands that the statutory cancellation right may be lost once downloading or access begins.

This does not affect statutory rights where digital content is faulty, materially misdescribed or cannot be supplied.

If a buyer receives the wrong file or cannot access the purchased footage, the buyer should contact William Visuals promptly so that the problem can be investigated and corrected.

No Transfer of Copyright

All copyright remains with William Slivinsky unless a separate written copyright assignment has been signed.

The licence allows the footage to be incorporated into a completed production. It does not allow the buyer to sell, distribute or license the footage itself as a competing media asset.

Any exclusivity, copyright assignment, extended distribution arrangement or use outside this policy requires a separate written agreement.

Governing Law

This policy and licences issued under it are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in the buyer’s place of residence.
